It’s time to get a purple PS5 DualSense controller (if you’re into it)

Galactic Purple DualSense controller for PS5

The PlayStation Direct online store is selling Galactic Purple DualSense controllers today, ahead of a wide release on February 11

Sony recently announced a new wave of colors for the PS5’s DualSense controllers, and if you’re looking for something with some extra flair, now is the time. While the Nova Pink and Starlight Blue controllers are available at retailers like Amazon, today is the day for my fellow Galactic Purple admirers – this colorway is in stock “early” if you buy direct from PlayStation. Otherwise, there are still a few weeks until the wide release on February 11.

Whenever we can find a bit of the “nothing is on the table!” the energy of the Nintendo 64 days, that’s what I’m here for. That said, $75 seems way high for a gamepad, even a nice one.

Nova Pink, Starlight Blue and Galactic Purple DualSense controllers

As someone who already has two white controllers and can’t justify getting another DualSense just because I prefer a more vibrant look, I’m envious of anyone looking for a purple, blue or pink DualSense controller – they really pop!

Informally, I feel like the purple is a crowd favorite, but I’d be curious to see a breakdown once the dust settles. Maybe Midnight Black is everything you’ve ever wanted. It will age well!

While I can see many PS5 owners eventually picking up a spare controller (whether voluntarily or reluctantly) to facilitate co-op play, I wonder how many people will feel the need to get one. alternate console cover — red and black will be in stock on January 21, by the way. I’m not inherently against the idea for ~cosmetic~ reasons, but I also don’t want to swap parts and then have to find a safe place for the original white cover. Things got really awesome with loose Xbox 360 faceplates, you know?

To anyone groaning at this article amid struggling to even find a PS5, period: I smell you.
